During Microsoft's E3 press conference they showed off gameplay of Halo Wars 2 and surprised the crowd by announcing the game would have an open beta starting today. Now it seems they have some more surprises to reveal.
Microsoft has announced that Halo Wars 2 will have a Ultimate Edition that comes with the season pass. While they haven't detailed exactly what you'll be getting yet, they said that the season pass will include new leaders to play as in multiplayer, new units, and a new campaign all within six months of Halo Wars 2 coming out. If you don't get it with the Ultimate Edition, then the season pass will cost $29.99.
The ultimate edition also comes with a really cool bonus in the form of Halo Wars: Definitive Edition. This updated re-release of the original Halo Wars will come with updated graphics, new achievements, and both the DLCs from the original game. Halo Wars: Definitive Edition will also be available on both the Xbox One and PCs, allowing PC gamers a first chance to play the game. Sadly, Microsoft didn't have much else to say about Halo Wars: Definitive Edition other than that they would be announcing more information in the coming months.
Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition will cost $79.99, and will come with the base game, the season pass, Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, and allows you to start playing the game four days early. You can also just get Halo Wars 2 on its own for $59.99. Halo Wars 2 is coming to the Xbox One and PC on February 21st, 2017. Halo Wars: Definitive Edition does not have a release date yet, but is also coming to the Xbox One and PC.
