Perfect World is releasing the next installment in Runic Games’ popular hack-n-slash Torchlight series later this year. Called Torchlight Mobile the new game will be available for iOS and Android. An early Alpha version of the game was demoed at E3.

Torchlight Mobile

Runic Games’ released Torchlight in 2009 to much acclaim. It’s sequel Torchlight II was released in 2012 with the addition of LAN and online multiplayer. Torchlight II sold over 3 million copies and hopes are that the new Mobile installment in the franchise will be nearly as successful.

Keeping many of the features that made the first two games a hit Torchlight Mobile will have the same aesthetic and similar gameplay to the originals. The new mobile game will retain the fan favorite fishing mechanic. Pets that carry your loot and fight alongside you will also be making a return.

Torchlight Mobile will be an all new game and not just a port of one of it’s predecessors. With the same dungeon crawling, RPG style as Torchlight  and Torchlight II, Torchlight Mobile will have all new features as well. Torchlight Mobile will have a new story with new areas to explore.

New features for Torchlight Mobile include new playable races and classes. There will also be a new collectible pets system as well as a new skill augmentation system to use. Torchlight Mobile will be free-to-play and will include PVP and online multiplayer gameplay.

In addition to testing their skills against other players and exploring dungeons Torchlight Mobile will have timed challenges for players to try. The game made its debut at E3 and received positive feedback. Torchlight Mobile even won the “Best MMO or RPG” award from
