The latest news from Ubisoft's E3 2014 Press Conference is Assassins Creed Unity. Alex Amancio, Creative director at Ubisoft Montreal stepped out to show it to us.

Set in the 19th Century in the height of the French Revolution our protagonist is seen fighting in the midst of the chaos. We see more assassins enter the fray, earlier today we learn't of the four player co-op that will be coming in Assassins Creed Unity. In addition to four player co-op Unity will be about "carving your own path filled with opportunities".

A mission starts as we are shown the faster free running as an assassin leaps and swings down a building with ease. The sheer number of people on screen show how much the engine has been optimized for next gen consoles and this really brings life into the city.

Events seem to appear seamlessly as you move through the city. The player also seems to be able to participate in or ignore these events if they want. The combat seems to be the same as in prior games. Locating objectives is a completely different system where event icons seem to show up in real time where they would be.

The idea of stalking your prey seems to be a much larger aspect of this as we see an assassin making his way around to find an optimal spot to assassinate his target. Even if your target gets stolen at the last moment.
