On today's Nindies Doublefine, creators of Stacking and Costume Quest announced a brand new 80's movie inspired apocalypse game RAD to be coming to Nintendo Switch. RAD pits players in the hyper-cool shoes of a classic action hero complete with bandana, baseball bat and bright neon accessories. The reveal featured Doublefine founder Tim Schafer and Lee Petty joking around before the awesome new trailer was played which you can out below.
Rad features hack-and-slash gameplay as well as the power to mutate the main character to give them strange superpowers, such as birthing strange clones of themselves or turning into giant bats. It also features a classic deep-voiced movie voiceover which tells you when you're being particularly 'rad' or 'tight', in classic 80's movie style. The game also features a variety of weapons and almost unlimited replayability with procedural generation. You can also get involved with the Steam closed beta by signing up right now over at the games official website.
According to a tweet from Nintendo of America Rad is also going to feature rogue-like elements and is being published by none other than Bandai Namco. Rad will be crashing its way to Switch Summer 2019 and will also be available on PC via Steam.
