A brand new Dota 2 update was released according to a blog post on the game's official website, bringing with it odds on the latest loot boxes, an item set shuffle option, and more.
The highlight of the update is perhaps the debut of the Treasure of the Carmine Crusade. This includes new item bundles for Ancient Apparition, Batrider, Ember Spirit, Oracle, Razor, Skywrath Mage, and Visage. Aside from the new goodies, opening these grants you an escalating chance at receiving a rare Earthshaker bundle, a very rare Dark Willow bundle, or an extremely rare Nature's Prophet bundle.
As part of this update, a rework in how the escalating odds are calculated for these loot boxes has been implemented and will continue to be used in future updates. You can see the exact odds by clicking on the "escalating odds" arrow next to each of the drops of varying rarities to see your chances of obtaining them. As always, these escalating odds will change depending on how many bundles you've already opened.
Subscribers of Dota Plus will be getting a neat new feature in this update to Dota 2. Unwanted rewards from this newest bundle can be recycled into "treasure fragments". Once you've acquired six of these fragments from the same treasure, they'll be automatically transformed into an extra copy of that same treasure along with 2,000 Dota Plus shards.
Finally, the last item of note in this update is a new feature which will allow players to shuffle between item sets for a hero automatically after every match. Simply activate the shuffle icon next to the "Full Sets" loadout and pick out which of the sets you would like to include in the pool for shuffling.
