Soon it'll be time to go back to Hell with Doom getting released next month. If you haven't gotten a chance to try the game out you'll soon get that chance. Doom will be getting an open beta starting April 15th and lasting until the 17th.

The beta, which will be available on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One along with Steam, won't feature all the content in Doom. It will have two game modes, Team Deathmatch and Warpath, and two maps, Heatwave and Infernal. This is similar to the closed beta they recently held which was available to those who had pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order or bought that title early in store.

Developer id Software has also announced that they plan to keep Doom supported with free updates as well, especially for the map creating SnapMap mode. In the future they'll be adding new props, modules, objects, editing tools, and more to SnapMap. Furthermore, they said that players will easily be able to access modes and levels created by SnapMap. While SnapMap will be getting the majority of the free content, id also said that they will be releasing new multiplayer game modes for free as well.

While SnapMap will be getting free updates and new game modes will be free, id does have plans for paid content as well. There will be three multiplayer-focused DLCs for Doom, and a season pass if you want to just get them all in one go. While the exact details haven't been announced yet, the first DLC will include three new maps, a new weapon, a new playable demon, new armor, equipment, customization options, and taunts. The DLCs will cost $14.99 (£11.99 [UK]) each, or you can get them all for $39.99 (£29.99 [UK]) in the season pass. Worth noting is that at this time there is no mention of single player DLC.

Doom will be available May 13th on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on Steam. The game will cost $59.99 on launch.
