The multiplayer expansion for Klei Entertainment’s hit survival game Don’t Starve is accepting registration for a limited beta run on the PlayStation 4, according to the development team’s official Twitter account. Don’t Starve Together, released on Steam in April 2016, adds the ability for players to fight the “uncompromising wilderness” alongside their friends in either co-op or multiplayer.
On July 15, 2016, Klei Entertainment posted the registration link for the PlayStation 4 beta. If you’re interested in signing up for it, there are a few things you need to know.
First, you need to make sure you’ll actually be available to test the beta while the servers for it are up. There are a limited number of spots, and Klei Entertainment doesn’t want to waste any on players that won’t be around to play. They’re also seeking players who are already experienced with Don’t Starve Together and will be able to recognize bugs or other irregularities in the game.
As the PlayStation 4 servers will be in beta, features such as the Gift item drops won’t be available as the developers don’t wish to “give you a bunch of skins and then take them away again when the beta ends”. It is worth noting as well is that people in the beta won’t get Don’t Starve Together for free according to a post by the developers.
Registration for the beta will last until sometime early the week of July 17, 2016, with participants randomly selected from a pool of active players. If you’ve been chosen for the beta, you’ll receive an email informing you. The beta period will last six weeks.
Don’t Starve Together and the original Don’t Starve are currently available on Steam for $14.99.

The game looks very fun to play, but unfortunately, I don’t have the time or experience in beta testing to be a good candidate in helping Klei Entertainment out. I wish the best for their beta period on the PlayStation 4, and a speedy release for all of the anxiously waiting survivalists.
