With the release of the highly anticipated Dishonored 2 releasing in a little over a week, Bethesda has revealed the official minimum and recommended specs via a blog post. This blog post also contains a first look at the game’s settings menu.

60 gigs for one game isn’t all that much these days, but as someone who can remember games being 3 GB and below I’m still sort of taken aback whenever I see a game with an install size north of 50 GB. The game’s graphical fidelity also requires you to have a decently powerful machine to run, making the minimum requirements a little higher than some of us can match. If you want to play the game maxed out you’ll have to have a really good PC to pull that off!

Now, without further ado . . . here are the system requirements:

  • Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit versions); Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better
  • 8 GB RAM; 60 GB free HDD space; NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7970 3GB or better
  • Contains a single disc. Download of additional files from Steam is required to run the game.
  • Requires Steam activation.

  • Windows 10 (64-bit versions); Intel Core i7-4770/AMD FX-8350 or better
  • 16 GB RAM; 60 GB free HDD space; NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB/AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB or better
  • Contains a single disc. Download of additional files from Steam is required to run the game.
  • Requires Steam activation.

But wait, there’s more! The blog post also reviews all the settings you can tweak in the game’s options menu. The amount of options you can play with seems decent at first glance, so you’ll be able to fiddle around with it to get the best performance out of your machine.

Dishonored 2 will become available for preload on all systems on November 8, except for Xbox One players who can already preload the game.

Dishonored 2 is scheduled to release for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 with PlayStation Pro support on November 11. Those who preorder the game can play one day early on November 10th. If you want to, it is currently available for 17% off on PC at Green Man Gaming (Affiliate) or Amazon has it with 20% off for Prime members with physical copies (Affiliate) on all systems .

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk, and I never really stopped playing them. When I'm not fulfilling my duties as senior staff writer and tech reviewer, I'm either working on music, producing one of two podcasts or doing freelance work.

Cripes. I’ve got the 16 gigs of RAM and the i7 Processor, but my GPU is barely over the minimum.

  • vonSanneck

The minimum requirements don’t make sense. The GTX 660 is miles behind the HD 7970 in relative performance.

  • c4ptchunk

    Edit: Was mistaken.

  • vonSanneck

Close being the HD 7970 being 27% more relatively powerful than the GTX 660. Not talking about the TI one.

  • c4ptchunk

Yeah, are right my bad. Was doing two things at once and misread.

  • vonSanneck

It happens. Did check and might be because of adding HBAO+ and it messing with AMD hardware. Or maybe Arkaine not having any older GCN hardware to mess around with on PC.

Cant wait, not preordering though, been burnt to many times.
