Devolver Digital is a publisher with an eccentric lineup of games that range all over the spectrum of things, but perhaps what they're most known for are stylish, high-octane shooters like Hotline MiamiBroforceSerious Sam, and Shadow Warrior. Well, it appears that they've added another to the list with DeadToast Entertainment's bullet time heavy shooter My Friend Pedro: Blood Bullets Bananas.

In My Friend Pedro: Blood Bullets Bananas you play as a highly acrobatic character who dual wields guns shooting down all the enemies you can with your friend Pedro guiding you along the way. However, there is one  big oddity about Pedro: he appears to be a talking banana.

Based on the 2014 2D flash game My Friend Pedro that DeadToast developed, My Friend Pedro: Blood Bullets Bananas brings the game into 3D, with brand new levels of polish and features for this premium release. That free 2014 game was originally developed as a school project that got some polish when the lone developer at DeadToast left his seven-year job at Media Molecule. Victor Agren, the developer, was pleased with its popularity and had more ideas to do with the concept, so treating the 2014 release as a concept, or prototype of sorts, he began work on the new 3D version.

Speaking with Victor, he compared the friendship in My Friend Pedro: Blood Bullets Bananas to Jay and Silent Bob, with Pedro filling the role of Bob, and your character to Silent Bob, saying that the main character only speaks through ballistic poetry.

To celebrate the partnership with Devolver Digital, a new trailer was released showing a sneak peak of the type of gameplay you can expect in My Friend Pedro: Blood Bullets Bananas.

Additionally, there is a Steam page up for the game, although don't take the 'coming soon seriously. The game is still in development and will be released when's it ready, with no target window of yet. If you want to learn more about the game, and the development process behind it, DeadToast also maintains a dev blog that gets updated occasionally sharing new screenshots and information on the game.
