The Messenger: Picnic Panic is a brand-new bit of content that's coming to Devolver Digital's The Messenger. It features a bunch of beach-themed levels., giant octopuses, and a host of new challenges for players to overcome.

Our hero from The Messenger is going on vacation! Head out to the mysterious Voodkin Island, a paradise that is probably not filled with deadly monsters and enemies that want to tear you to shreds! Okay, so maybe it is filled with deadly enemies, but it's not like a ninja couldn't handle them anyways — even if he has to fight the occasional giant octopus.

Players will get to enjoy three new levels, each of which concludes with the kind of epic and amazing boss fights that we've come to expect from Sabotage's retro-esque platformer. You'll have plenty of sweet tunes to jam to as well: Rainbowdragoneyes has returned to bring a bit of music and has supplied 18 brand-new tracks for this free expansion to an already awesome game.

You can embark on the perfect ninja vacation when The Messenger: Picnic Panic arrives July 11, 2019, on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. In the meantime, take a look at the Picnic Panic trailer below to get a preview of all the new gameplay you can expect to see in this free update. If you don't yet already own The Messenger, you can pick it up on Steam right now for $11.99 or your regional equivalent, a 40% discount off of its regular price.
