PC Gamers don’t have to wait long for the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided preload. In fact, it has already started at 9AM Pacific earlier this morning. After unpacking, expect 45GB of game data to be added to your hard drive when all is said and done. Those with a slower connection has the full weekend to download the 19.9GB preload size. For those who have been waiting for more reviews (Check out TechRaptor’s Deus Ex: Mankind Divided first impressions) and have made up their mind on picking up a copy – a number of solid deals are available
Two notable PC gaming retailers are offering discounts up to 30% off. DLGamer and GMG. Both are authorized by Square Enix and are confirmed to be sending out Steam keys already so you’ll have them in time to preload through the weekend.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Preload Deals
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Digital Deluxe Edition (Steam) — $67.49 at GMG (list $90)
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Steam) — $44.99 at GMG (list $60)
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided DLGamer (Steam) — $41.99 at DLGamer (list $60)
DLGamer has the best discount but only for the Standard Edition. Their 30% price break is the best on the net from an authorized retailers and cuts the price a whopping $18 off the $60 list price.
A more popular choice, since it’s one of the top 5 online PC games retailers is at GMG. There you’ll find a 25% discount on the Standard Edition of the game and the only known online discount on the Digital Deluxe. The Deluxe price break is a hefty $22.50 in savings with a drop from $90 to $67.49 – not bad at all.
Pre-ordering the new Deus Ex before Tuesday’s release gets you typical pre-order bonuses for Triple-A titles. There are 8 bonuses in total and they are of course all digital goodies. Three of the eight are skin packs, one a bonus in-game mission, and four others digital extras expanding on the Deus Ex universe. These will no doubt be paid DLC in the future, or wrapped into a final “definitive edition.”
There is no Day 1 advantage to pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition, as that version only includes the Season Pass which won’t have content appearing on August 23. That said, snagging a 25% discount at GMG now on the Deluxe guarantees you 25% off the Season Pass, which probably won’t get a similar 25% discount until awhile after Season Pass officially launches.
For those still unsure of the game, r/games has its usual critic review roundup so you can make a decision. So far the scores look respectable – but as we all know, if you base game buying on scores only – you’re going to have a bad time.
