The Destiny Alpha, which started last Thursday and was supposed to run until Midnight PST/3 AM EST, has been extended - per Bungie! On the Bungie Twitter account, they tweeted that it was to be extended for "dangerous experiments". As of this posting, the servers are still live and playable!

Whatever happens, Bungie has planned for the Beta testing phase (which will feature significantly more content) to go live on July 17 for players on the PS3 and PS4, with the Xbox systems getting to join in later. The full game, which you can pre-order here, hits shelves (and Xbox Live/PSN) on September 9th. A PC release, which is still up for discussion, is unknown.
