Developer Behavior Interactive and publisher Starbreeze Studios have unveiled the newest chapter for their asymmetrical competitive horror game Dead by Daylight, a chapter which adds several iconic elements from Lionsgate’s Saw movie franchise into the game’s framework.

According to a press release from Starbreeze, Dead by Daylight’s Saw Chapter is available now on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 as a $6.99 DLC pack. Those who purchase The Saw Chapter DLC will gain access to a newly playable killer, playable survivor, and a new game map. The new killer is Amanda Young, a.k.a. The Pig, a disciple of the legendary Jigsaw Killer. The Pig is able to place reverse bear traps on any survivors she gets her hands on and thus raising the stakes even higher as survivors who take too long to escape will meet a particularly grisly fate.

Also included in The Saw Chapter DLC is the new survivor David Tapp, who was portrayed by Danny Glover in the first Saw movie. Both David Tapp and Amanda Young come equipped with three unique character perks. Tapp’s perks allow him to crawl faster and recover on his own when downed, detect nearby items when finishing a Generator, and increase the benefits of his skill checks by standing near the killer without triggering a Chase. Meanwhile, Amanda’s perks cause Sacrificial Hooks to automatically regenerate when sabotaged, allow her to detect regressing Generators, and forces survivors who rescue a fellow survivor from a hook to make a skill check that damages them upon failure.

The final item included in The Saw Chapter DLC is a new map themed around the Gideon Meat Plant from Saw III and IV. More information on The Saw Chapter can be found via its dedicated page on the Dead by Daylight website.

The Saw Chapter DLC for Dead by Daylight is set to go live later today, January 23, so if it’s not showing up on your platform of choice when you first check, be sure to keep checking throughout the day.

Are you looking forward to stalking your victims as The Pig? Do you think you have what it takes to outrun her? What horror movie franchise would you like to see next appear in Dead by Daylight?
