DC Universe Online, the MMO by Daybreak set in the DC Comics Universe, was launched on Xbox One today according to IGN.

There are further details in a FAQ on the game’s website. Xbox One owners can download DC Universe Online right now in the Xbox Store. All content available on the PC and PlayStation versions of the game are also available on the Xbox One, and Daybreak plans to keep the updates in sync across all three platforms. Individual episodes of the game can be purchased in the Xbox store, or players can get a membership to DC Universe Online to have access to all of the Episodes along with additional content so long as the membership remains active.

DC Universe Online is a free-to-play game, but you nonetheless must have an Xbox Gold membership to play the title. The game does not support cross-play; the Xbox version will be in its own separate ecosystem. The PlayStation 4 version of the game is similarly isolated from the PC community.

In addition to the launch on Xbox One, DC Universe Online is running a sweepstakes for the next five days. The sweepstakes require that players answer trivia questions about the DC Comics universe as well as the game itself. Incorrect answers do not disqualify you, and participants can use referral links which will grant five additional entries into the sweepstakes for anyone who uses it to successfully enter the contest.

Each day, three winners will be chosen. The top three winners will receive an Ultimate Edition, a Power Bundle, or 2,000 Marketplace Cash. In addition, there will be two grand prizes of an Xbox One console. The sweepstakes are open to all players age 18 or older, and the Xbox One grand prizes are only available to U.S. Residents.

DC Universe Online is also in the midst of a Player Appreciation Weekend. Players are guaranteed at least one Rare Loot drop for completing an instance if they fail to acquire one along the way. The game is also gearing up to launch its next content expansion titled “Episode 24” which was streamed on the game’s official Twitch channel on Wednesday, April 27th.

This will be the first title for Daybreak on Xbox One. Daybreak was previously known as Sony Online Entertainment and broke away from their parent company after being bought out by the investment firm Columbus Nova.
