From Software's Dark Souls has had a rocky history on PC, to say the least. Although it has been over two years, it looks as though Dark Souls will finally be the game it should have been on release, as it will soon switch platforms from Games for Windows Live to Steam.

The move has been in the works for a long while, with the actual switch originally taking place this month. However, it has now been delayed to sometime in December, with the exact date presently unknown.

Here is the full quote:

We are working hard to finalize the process to move your Dark Souls: Prepare to Die saves and achievements to Steam. We need to conduct additional testing and we are now targeting December to begin this process. We'll have more information in the coming weeks. Thank you very much for your patience!
The update will also allow Dark Souls players to "... redeem their Games for Windows Live Tokens on Steam to get Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition at no additional cost." For players who need to get their Games for Windows Live Tokens still, be sure to go here.

For those interested, Dark Souls is currently on sale at 66% off. If you have somehow never given the Souls series a shot, now would be a great time to jump in.

For players beginning to play Dark Souls, do yourself a favor and get the dsfix from Durante here.
