Capcom and Grasshopper Manufacture are partnering to bring No More Heroes' Travis Touchdown in the Switch release of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. Travis will be made into an official pawn in Dragon's Dogma and will be free to download from April 25th until July 8th. The event will coincide with an upcoming update for Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes that brings a Dragon's Dogma shirt that can be worn by either Travis or Badman. The shirt will be available in Travis Strikes Again starting on April 18th.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is an open-world action RPG developed by Capcom that drew heavily from big-budget Western fantasy games. In addition to all of the magic and sword-wielding classes found in your standard RPG, you are joined in your quest by up to three NPCs, known as "Pawns." While you create one of the pawns yourself, two other pawns can either be found during your adventures or hired from other players. Either way, the pawns all provide material and battle support, as well as offering hints during boss fights.

The game Capcom is partnering with, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, is about as far away as games get from massive, open-world RPGs. A love letter to lead developer Suda51's favorite indie games, it blends the zany antics of the No More Heroes series with radically different gameplay sequences. Video games these days are inherently derivative art, and Travis Strikes Again is a pure celebration of games, large and small. Suda51 went as far as to include 55 different indie games in the form of cosmetic t-shirts for Travis and Badman, boosting their reach. While it's unusual to see Dragon's Dogma alongside indie games like Hatoful Boyfriend and Luftrausers, it's a generous move regardless. You can experience Travis Touchdown in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, or represent the game yourself in Travis Strikes Again later this month.
