Danganronpa 2 Title

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair is finally making its way to Steam this April - and the folks at Spike Chunsoft are offering quite the incentive for preordering. On April 4th pre-orders go live, with a 20% discount and bonus mini-OST including 11 tracks. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair can be preordered up until its launch on April 18th. 2016 at 10:00 AM PTD, at which point the asking price will be 29.99 USD. In addition, as is increasingly common with Steam releases, there will be trading cards to trade, badges to create, and 8-bit emoticons with which to... emote.

Originally released for the Playstation Vita, Danganronpa: Triger Happy Havoc was released on Steam February 18th of this year, and the same 20% discount and bonus soundtrack pre-order incentive was offered.

The quirky anime mystery visual novel series has received universal positive reviews from numerous publications for its original PS Vita launch, and it has since been well-received overwhelmingly by Steam reviewers for its bizarrely compelling story and easy transition to PC.

If this trend continues, anticipate more Spike Chunsoft titles to make their way to the PC market - and, almost certainly, more pre-order bonuses.

Quick Take

I didn't experience the first Danganronpa until it was released on PC. With more (well done) ports, especially from the Japanese market, more people will be able to play titles they otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to. As far as the pre-order bonus is concerned, I think it's tempting. Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc was a good port and a spectacular game - this is coming from someone who doesn't enjoy visual novels - but if you have any doubts I think you should hold off and see what others have to say first. 20% off and some sweet tuneage won't mean much if the game doesn't run well.
