Customization Your Karts and Characters in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled was first revealed last year at The Game Awards. It's a remake of Crash Team Racing, originally developed by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation in 1999. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled aims to bring the original PlayStation classic to modern audiences, with graphics and gameplay redesigned from the ground up. It is currently being developed by Beenox, an Activision studio that previously developed Skylanders: SuperChargers, Skylanders: SuperChargers Racing, The Amazing Spider-Man, among other games, and ported a couple of dozen other games to PC and Mac. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will release on June 21 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

In the meantime, the marketing campaign is bringing some extra details on the game such as the opportunity to customize your karts and characters. The Customization Trailer revealed today shows a variety of ways that players will get to mix and match kart chassis bodies, wheels, paint jobs, stickers, and even decals to karts. Fans who grew up with the kart racing classic from the late 90s will be able to create their own sweet rides. Original karts from the 1999 classic will also be available in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.

In addition to customizing karts, the game will also allow players to customize their racers. That means "N. sane" character skins will be in the remake. Players will get to adorn their characters with lots of zany swag and personality. Included are the unique podium animations available to certain skins, which will make the celebration of victories even more exciting. And to top it all off, characters from Crash Nitro Kart will also be available in the new game.

The customization items can be earned through the Adventure Mode, but also by collecting in-game Wumpa Coins so you can use them to swag out your kart and racer in the Pit Stop area. The game will also include character stats just as you remember from the 1999 classic, including Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes.
