Operation Wildfire

Earlier this evening, members of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community were made aware of a pending update that had a large amount of information and changes, with speculation that it could be the new update. Now, the update has been pushed to all Counter-Strike players that are logged into Steam, and the game's website has been updated.

Operation Wildfire, which is available for $5.99 to players that own the game, includes many of the features of previous operations - such as an upgradeable challenge coin, operation journal, campaign, missions, and additional drops. What differs in the operation is that Gemini Campaign, the operation campaign, will feature cooperative missions and leaderboards for each missions as well. These missions, 30 in total, will be able to be completed across the Casual, Arms Race, Demolition, and Deathmatch modes.

Blitz Missions

Addtionally, a new feature called Blitz Missions has been added. Blitz Missions are global events that will grant bonus XP for completing a specific action, and will include Competitive missions as well, although you must be Level 3 and above to participate in them.

Purchasers of the new Operation will be able to receive drops from the Cobblestone, Cache, Overpass, Gods and Monsters, Chop Shop, and Rising Sun collections. Additionally they'll have exclusive access to the all-new Wildfire Case, which includes the new Bowie Knife.

7 Community Maps are being made available for play in competive, and for the players that have been asking, Nuke has been re-introduced with whole new look! You can find out more here, and you'll be able to play it in its all new form immediately!

To find out more about the operation, you can check out the official page, otherwise all you have to do is boot up Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and buy the new operation to get started!

Quick Take

I can't say much past the fact that this is a long time coming. Operations are always an absolute blast to participate in, and the infusion of new weapon skins is always interesting to see both in-game and in the market!

What do you think of the new operation? Have you seen any new weapon skins that catch your eye?
