Food Truck Champion is quite good, and the Kickstarter Campaign for the game is now live, so if you are a fan of food trucks, or Glory to Rome-inspired games, then you should head over to the Kickstarter page and pledge now.
The campaign will run until Wednesday, March 15th, 2017, and Daily Magic Games plan to deliver a Print & Play version of the game that same month. The physical copies of the game have an estimated delivery date of October 2017, and based on Daily Magic Games’ experience with successfully delivering projects in the past, that seems like a reasonable time-frame.
The campaign, asking for $15,000, is already fully funded. There is only one Stretch Goal revealed currently (as of the time of this writing) at the $20,000 mark, for an improved Active Player Token, but there are more to be revealed as the campaign matures. The pledge levels for the game start at $10 for the Print & Play version, while the Retail version (which also includes the Print & Play) of the game can be had for $20 + shipping, which is listed as an additional $4 for the U.S., $9 for Canada, $10 for the E.U., and $12 for the rest of the world; excluding BR/RU/MX, which will be $70.
A Deluxe version of the game can be had for $24 + shipping (prices mirror the retail version), which comes with a Kickstarter limited First Player Token and Helpers Mini-Expansion. A Germany-only pledge level is also included for this price and has a flat $10 shipping fee.
A retail pledge is available for $135 total, for any stores that want to stock the game after delivery, and the ultimate pledge (limited to nine pledges in total) for the campaign is the Food Truck Helper Deluxe pledge for $349. That price includes shipping and allows you to submit pictures of yourself to be drawn in your likeness by Claire Donaldson, the game’s artist. Not only will you receive a high-resolution digital copy of the drawing that Claire produces, as well as a mention in the rulebook, but each likeness will be used as one of the Helpers in the Helpers Mini-expansion. These nine pledges will also get one of the advance copies of the game, meaning they will get their copy before anyone else.
All told, Food Truck Champion is a great game that I highly recommend to anyone who is interested in the theme or the gameplay. The pre-production copy that I have played already had production-quality components, and every Daily Magic Games product that I have laid hands on has been incredibly well-produced. Daily Magic Games has enough experience with Kickstarter to inspire confidence in this campaign, and the funding goal will most likely be reached shortly if it hasn’t already been reached by the time this article goes live.
If you need more convincing, check out my preview of the game. If you still aren’t convinced, you can try the game out for yourself using the Daily Magic Games approved workshop mod on Tabletop Simulator.
