Crazy Taxi Classic

Early 2000’s hit game series Crazy Taxi has found new life on mobile devices as Crazy Taxi Classic and now Sega has announced that the mobile version will be free. A new Crazy Taxi game called Crazy Taxi Gazillionaire will be launching soon and in celebration the company is making Classic available to even more mobile gamers.

Sometimes the road isn't the fastest route.

Crazy Taxi Gazillionaire will pit local taxi companies against the booming new ride sharing companies. In this new game Uber-esque PRESTIGE MEGACORPORATION and its notorious director Edelbert Von Guber are taking over your turf and it’s up to you and your fellow taxi drivers to take back your fares with some good old fashioned Crazy Taxi driving. To prepare for the upcoming game players can hop onto Crazy Taxi Classic and practice their driving skills.

Featuring original music from the Offspring and Bad Religion and the ability to listen to music from your own personal tracklist, Crazy Taxi Classic has remastered the original DreamCast game for mobile devices. Players can challenge themselves to make the most money by picking up passengers and dropping them off as quickly as possible in 3, 5 or 10 minute long Arcade or Original Modes. Offering tilt or touch controls, players can careen off of large hills, drive underwater and launch themselves over parked transporters. Now the game has also added controller support making the game compatible with Power A Moga, Xbox, and all HID controllers.

The game used to cost $4.99 offering 16 mini games and the ability to play across multiple devices, now it’s free with ad support. Those that have already purchased the game will be able to play ad free and those wanting to remove ads from the free version can do so for $1.99. Crazy Taxi Classic is available for free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad or on Google Play for Android devices. Crazy Taxi Gazillionaire has no release date yet, but will launch soon.

It is possible that this may be connected to the recent rumblings around a new initiative at Sega called Sega Forever that appears to be on mobile devices, but there is no confirmation of that at this time.
