The Cooking Simulator release date has been pushed back to early 2019 according to a news post on the game's Steam Community page.

Cooking Simulator is - to the surprise of no one - a simulator game about cooking. This particular title is aiming for a somewhat more realistic take on things with good graphics and a bunch of neat things you can do in the game. Sure, you could totally play the game properly and cook up delicious meals, but there's also the option to stick a fire extinguisher in the microwave and see what happens.

You can get a good feel for the game and see some of its features by checking out its trailer:

Gameplay will consist of the usual fare that one would expect from a simulator game. There will be some sort of career mode where you can make dishes, improve your reputation, and eventually learn more recipes. It's not explicitly stated as such, but there will probably also be a sandbox or something similar. The trailer does show off a fair amount of messing around and a sandbox is the best place to do that.

The Cooking Simulator release date was originally planned to be sometime sooner, but the developers have decided to push it back to next year. While beating the Christmas rush might have brought in a lot of sales, Wastelands Interactive wants to make sure they get things right and put out a polished game with plenty of content, unlike certain recent AAA releases.

If this seems like the kind of game you'd enjoy, you can head on over to its Steam Store page and add it to your wishlist. The Cooking Simulator release date is sometime in Early 2019 on PC, with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to follow at some point, along with a possible VR mode. And hey, if Cooking Simulator isn't to your tastes, there are other similar games that are worth checking out.

What do you think of the Cooking Simulator release date being moved back to early 2019? Do you think the game looks like something you'd like to play? Are there any celebrity chefs you'd quote while playing it? Let us know in the comments below!
