The September update for Remedy Entertainment's third-person shooter Control has been released. This update adds a few new UI elements and squashes a bunch of bugs. It's live on PS4 right now and the devs are working to bring it to Xbox One and PC soon.

Some of the new UI elements you can expect include new motion blur and film grain toggles. Map loading times have been improved, and if you've experienced issues on ultra-wide monitors on PC, those should be fixed. A couple of UI bugs, including one that centers the camera on main character Jesse's head, have been squashed, along with "multiple UI related issues", according to the official patch notes.

Elsewhere, there are lots of progression fixes. A bug stopping you from acquiring the Pierce Charging Efficiency and Spin Grouping Efficiency upgrades has been fixed. There are also a number of new story and side mission-related fixes, including one for the Old Friends side mission and one for the mission The Face of the Enemy. Remedy has also addressed a couple of crafting and upgrade activation issues.

Generally speaking, stability has been improved across all platforms. Remedy also says it's "improved general frame rate performance" by optimizing each system and some of the game's content. The PC launcher should no longer experience DX11 and DX12-related crashes, and various in-mission and in-combat bugs have also been squashed. If you'd like to read the full patch notes for the Control September update, you can do so right here.

Again, Remedy is working hard to bring this update to Xbox One and PC players. The studio says bug fixing and submission times vary according to platform, which is what stops the update from launching concurrently on all platforms. PS4 owners can download the update right now. While you wait, you can check out Sam's review of the game.
