Do you have employees that work in different time zones, but RDP into a Terminal Server at different locations?

If this is the case, the time zone difference on the terminal server can be confusing, but there is a quick way to fix this.

On Server 2003 (R2 as well)

Step 1: Start -> Run

Step 2: “gpedit.msc”

Step 3: Computer Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>Windows Components>Terminal Services>Terminal Server>Device and Resource Redirection

Step 4: Under “Allow time zone redirection” you select “Enable”

On Server 2008 (R2 as well)

Step 1: Start -> Run

Step 2: “gpedit.msc”

Step 3: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Device and Resource Redirection

Step 4: Under “Allow time zone redirection” you select “Enable”
