It looks as though Valve Software has finally nailed down a finalized version of their Steam Controller, along with some previously announced and unannounced hardware. Click the jump to find out more.

Yesterday, Valve Software announced that at GDC 2015 they not only be showing off their Steam Controller and Console, but a newly revealed SteamVR hardware system as well.

Steam hardware in general has had a long and bumpy road over the past few years. Originally in September 2013, Valve announced that they would release a Steam OS and Steam Controller sometime in 2014. However early last year, Valve announced that their Steam Machines would not be released in 2014, stating that "... we're now looking at a release window of 2015, not 2014."

Later that year, an intriguing mock-up of the latest Steam Controller was leaked and later confirmed by Ars Technica for its legitimacy. That was the last information released about Steam's foray into the hardware market, all the way back in July 2014.

Almost a year later, the gaming world will finally discover the exact details of Valve's hardware at GDC 2015. Here is Valve Software's statement in its entirety below, along with a request for developers interested in Valve's SteamVR:

Steam is bringing the best games and user-generated content to exciting new destinations. At GDC 2015, we’ll be giving demos of the refined Steam Controller, new living room devices, and a previously-unannounced SteamVR hardware system.

With the introduction of SteamVR hardware, Valve is actively seeking VR content creators. Are you a developer or publisher interested in experiencing the new SteamVR hardware? We’ll be giving scheduled VR demos during the week of GDC, March 4th-6th, 2015, at Moscone Center in San Francisco.
