Released earlier this year in Japan as Cladun: Sengoku, today NIS America have announced the localization for the title, now known as Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku!, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Steam for Windows PC. The title will receive both a Limited Edition and Standard physical release on PlayStation 4, with both the PlayStation Vita and Steam releases of the title remaining digital only. The PlayStation 4 Limited Edition (pictured above) comes with the game, a music CD, and a pixel foam sword, all in a special box.

Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku!, much like the other previous Cladun games that the company released on both PSP and Steam, is an Action RPG/dungeon crawler mix. Players create their own characters and weapons, traveling through a Sengoku-era Japanese story, filled with dungeon crawling and the like. Players can choose from many character classes, while they decide what sort of character they want to use to explore the games dungeons. NIS America has released a small teaser trailer for the title, detailing the basics of the experience.

Besides today's trailer, NIS America have also created a website for the title, detailing just a little bit more of what the game is about. For what it's worth, the title didn't do so well in Japan when it released over there earlier this year. It should be interesting to see how the title fares with a western audience (especially considering the theme of the game revolving around Japanese history).

Quick Take

I almost ended up importing this earlier this year when I bought Digimon World: Next Order and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X for my Vita, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the game is like, now that the title is finding its way overseas. It's hard to avoid comparing this title with this year's Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate. Obviously both titles are very different, but regardless, it should be interesting to see the title's reception comparatively, once it releases next year.

Will you be picking up Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku! yourself?
