Humble Bundle’s impressive catalog of published titles is growing larger with the highly-anticipated release of Void Bastards, a whacky out-of-this-world sci-fi adventure. It’s also coming very soon this month.

Void Bastard‘s twitter account announced the official launch date for its game, which will drop on May 29th, 2019. It releases for both the PC on the Humble Store and Steam, as well as the Xbox One.

Void Bastards is a sci-fi FPS game featuring a unique comic book aesthetic. You take control of various, disposable prisoners attempting to escape from the Sargasso Nebula. This portion of the gameplay is quite like Rogue Legacy. Death doesn’t mean the end of your playthrough. Each new prisoner you take control of has different traits such as “colorblind” or “short.”

Players must strategically plan out the route they wish to take and attack each ship they encounter along the way accordingly. You can create gear, utilize upgrades, and more to help your prisoners along during their journey in the dangerous Sargasso Nebula.

Jonathan Chey is one of the developers for Void Bastards. His experience includes being the design director for Bioshock and System Shock 2. Using those two titles as inspiration, Jonathan Chey and the rest of the team at Blue Manchu developed Void Bastards with the intention of infusing strategy with each combat encounter.

Void Bastards releases on the Humble Store, Steam, and the Xbox One on May 29th, 2019.

I love to write, and I love to game. So, I've combined those two hobbies into one! Some of my favorite games include Fire Emblem, Halo, The Elder Scrolls, and World of Warcraft. Sometimes I like to read the occasional fantasy novel, too!
