Kickstarter success story Catlateral Damage is making its way to consoles with a PlayStation 4 release coming in just a few weeks.

Making nearly $62,000 on Kickstarter, Catlateral Damage started out as a prototype for a game jam called 7DFPS. The goal of this jam was that you had only 7 days to create a new and interesting first person game. Creator Chris Chung settled on making a game about a cat, specifically basing it on his childhood cat who would always get in trouble. After much hard work the game launched on Steam back in May 2015.

You play as a cat in Catlateral Damage and your only goal is to knock things off of shelves and onto the floor. The game has two game modes: in objective mode you have to knock down a certain amount of items in a time limit, while in litterbox mode you're free to simply wander around levels and explore as you like. Levels take place in a variety of environments, but they're procedurally generated so you will never see the same place twice. You can upgrade your ability to jump and swipe things off of shelves by playing with toys, and there's always a chance that a random event will occur which will cause some strange and interesting effects to happen in-game.

The game also features some interesting additions from Kickstarter backers. Over 250 photos of cats are collectible in the game, and a good chunk of the playable cats are actually cats owned by Kickstarter backers. It's always entertaining to see Kickstarter rewards pan out in a good way, and this game features rather neat ones for the cat owners that made it in. Some cameo toys from indie games like Octodad: Dadliest Catch, Lethal LeagueSuper Time Force Ultra, and Goat Simulator also populate the game.

Catlateral Damage was released on PC back in May of 2015 and is rated Very Positive with a 93% approval rating in the nearly 400 reviews it has. According to Steam Spy, it is owned there by roughly 20k players.

Catlateral Damage releases on the PlayStation 4 March 22nd at a price of $9.99. PlayStation Plus owners can get the game at 20% off at launch.
