Since its launch back in February, it would seem that Capcom is now taking into account the amount of criticism that has been addressed for Street Fighter V.

In a March financial results briefing from Capcom chairman and CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto, a summary has noted that there was indeed a lack of sufficient content upon the titles launch. As such, the summary said that it should be in Capcoms best interest to spend a little more time in future development, to ensure the company is running a "high quality title" that will perform well globally. It is worth noting that this is not a press release, but instead a discussion to investors and resulted in tweaks to how they've budgeted in the future.

For example, some aspects of “Street Fighter V” needed more polish, such as the lack of content and server issues at launch. Accordingly, we feel it’s better to give a little more time to
development than before, and have made slight adjustments to our portfolio. Profits may take one or two years longer to stack up than initially expected, however we will be firmly
strengthening our brands.
This news comes weeks after a Game Informer interview with executive producer Yoshinori Ono (sourced Event Hubs), who acknowledged the criticisms of the titles initial launch and has promised that Capcom is looking at improving the issues faced within the title.

"We were so excited to get the game in the hands of our fans," Ono said. ".... we did our best to include as much content as we could for the February launch, but obviously some players expected more."

Since its launch, Street Fighter V has had an incredibly shaky start due to its lack offline content, and poor online performance. Though regardless of its previous state, Capcom has made a consistent effort in trying to improve both the online and offline gameplay experience, with network patches, and new characters still being added to the roster. In a more recent update, long time series favorite Guile marked his return, with speculations suggesting that the next one could be Guile's boss, Byron Taylor.

In addition to these updates, Capcom is said to be looking into adding an arcade mode at some point in the near future. Much like the updates thus far, Ono said this mode will be made available "for free" throughout 2016 "and beyond".

Street Fighter V is currently available on both PlayStation 4 and PC. If you haven't already, be sure to check Alexander Baldwins review. While the lack of core features was certainly a disappointment, Baldwin still awarded Street Fighter V fair 7/10, and went onto praise the title for striking that "perfect balance" of approachable competitive gameplay.
