Woomy! Splatoon's photogenic cephalopodan idols, the Squid Sisters, are getting their own Amiibo. The figures will be released on July 7th in Japan, and the 8th in North America and Europe, then Australia the 9th. At the same times, new colors for the existing inkling Amiibo will be released. These recolors will have the same functionality as the existing Splatoon Amiibo while Callie and Marie will unlock fresh performances from their musical duo.

Normally, performances by the Sisters is limited to Splatfest concerts only, but summoning up Callie or Marie will let you hear their tunes at your leisure, in addition to including plenty of tracks not normally performed, and all-new songs that you'll only be able to hear this way (until someone uploads them to YouTube the day after). The new Amiibo will be bundled together for around $24.99 in America and Australia, and sold separately elsewhere.

Existing Splatoon Amiibo unlock some new weapons and gear for your inkling, helping you show off the wealth to other players online. Splatoon got its last update in January, but Splatfests and events are oncoming as much as ever. Even without new weapons or Amiibo on the agenda, Splatoon has tons of fun content and intense competition ready for any WiiU owner, and the challenge of maintaining a good rank is not for the faint of heart. You'll even get to meet Callie and Marie themselves, if you play your cards right, and who wouldn't want to hang out with the most tentacular idols in Inkopolis?

The Squid Sisters have been a hit ever since they first got introduced to the world. Just check out their holographic concert from Japan earlier this year. Not to mention their popularity online, both artistically and musically. As in any Splatfest, which pits the pair against each other's choices every time, the only thing to worry about now is which one to pick.
