In news that I'm certain is going to make people totally unsurprised, today Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be teaming up with popular food brands Doritos and Mt. Dew for some cross-promotion.

Yes, its Call of Duty time again. Like many years, the drinks and chips will have codes that you can redeem for in-game rewards. In this case, cans of Mt. Dew, Diet Mt. Dew, and bags of Doritos chips will come with codes that give you one hour of 2x XP in the game's multiplayer. Mt. Dew Game Fuel will also have codes for 2x XP, but the first time you enter a Game Fuel code you'll also get some bonus in-game cosmetics, such as a unique calling card, weapon charm, and operator skin. Additionally, the products will sport a special Call of Duty graphic, and there will be a limited time orange version of Game Fuel.

We laugh, but thankfully some other people will benefit from this. On September 14th Activision and Mt. Dew will hold the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PRO-AM tournament in Long Beach, California. The winning team will be able to donate $25,000 to either The Call of Duty Endowment, a charity that supports US and UK veterans, or The AbleGamers Charity, who supports making controllers for physically disabled people. The charity that doesn't get picked will still get a cool $10,000, so ultimately everybody wins.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on October 25th, 2019. An open beta for PlayStation 4 owners that have pre-ordered the game will begin on September 12th. You will be able to begin redeeming codes on October 6 at the Mountain Dew, Gamefuel, and Doritos websites.

Have you drunk a Mt. Dew today? What about eating a bag of Doritos? Did you know that Taco Bell now makes tacos with Doritos as the shell? Go eat one and then tell us about it in the comments below!
