The story of Zombies in Spaceland features four aspiring actors who are out for an audition with director Willard Wyler (voiced by Paul Reubens of Pee-Wee's Playhouse fame). The actors are transported into the movie of a former horror legend and must fight their way through an '80s-themed horror escapade. The movie is set in an over-the-top 80s theme park called Spaceland Park that features crazy rides and other amusements.

The co-op mode will feature four playable characters based on classic stereotypes from '80s movies: Andre the rapper, Poindexter the nerd, Sally the valley girl, and A.J. the jock. The voice acting talent will feature Seth Green (of Robot Chicken and Buffy The Vampire Slayer fame), Ike Barinholtz (MAD TVSuicide Squad), Jay Pharoah (Saturday Night Live), and Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live). David Hasselhoff will be portraying the role of a mysterious DJ that the four players will encounter throughout their adventures.

The gameplay mode will include many of the standard guns featured in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The Spaceland Park setting will also include weapons such as The Facemelter which turns a zombie into a firework that launches into the air and bursts into a colorful explosion. A "magic wheel" will move around through the level and can reward players with anything from a common weapon to a more special weapon that can only be acquired via the magic wheel. Additionally, a literal "Lost and Found" placed near the opening of the park will allow players to reacquire lost guns after death at a discount. This option will allow them to avoid having to purchase new guns and start upgrading them from scratch.

A Twitch stream featuring additional information has just recently completed. The VoD is available for viewing here. A steam also took place on YouTube; however, the stream is currently broken and stuck on a black screen so the VoD is not yet viewable on there.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is set to be released on November 4 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Pre-ordering any edition of the game will net players the "Zombies In Spaceland" pack which will include a Zombies weapon camo, Zombies weapon reticle, and more. Pre-order purchases will also include a re-imagined version of the classic Terminal map.

What do you think of the '80s theme for the latest version of the Zombies gameplay mode? Do you think the backlash to the announcement of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is justified or simply overblown? Let us know in the comments below!
