A brand-new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Edition has been released and is now available for purchase, letting players get a more streamlined multiplayer experience at a cheaper price.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has been doing its fair share of mixing things up lately. It’s the first CoD game to feature a Battle Royale gaming mode and it’s also the first title to be published on Blizzard Battle.net rather than Steam. The new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Edition is yet another game changer for Activision’s bombastic battle franchise.

This special edition of the game essentially includes standard multiplayer and Blackout in one neat package. Blackout is the Battle Royale mode that was first introduced to this franchise in BLOPS 4. It’s not really a surprise considering how wildly popular this particular style of gameplay has been as of late.

Unfortunately, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Edition does not include the Zombies gameplay mode. If you enjoy blowing away the undead with high-powered weaponry, you’re gonna have to pony up a few bucks extra for the call BLOPS 4 experience. The game seems to be doing just fine without a single-player experience, so perhaps this edition can succeed without any zombies to shoot, either.

Thankfully, players who purchase the Battle Edition will be able to upgrade to a higher tier of the game for an additional cost, so at least you won’t have to drop another sixty bucks if you want to shoot some zombies in the face. A similar mechanism for upgrading a game exists with other games on the Blizzard Battle.net platform like Overwatch which allows players to upgrade from the Standard Edition to the Legendary Edition by simply paying the difference in price.

You can grab the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Edition at the Battle.net shop for $29.99 or your regional equivalent, a 25% discount off of its $39.99 MSRP. This introductory price will only be in effect until January 6, 2019; now’s as good a time as any to jump right in and have fun shooting the everloving crap out of your friends!

What do you think of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Edition? Does the lack of the Zombies game mode put you off the purchase? Let us know in the comments below!
