The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Absolute Zero update will be bringing a bunch of new content to the game. Among that new content is the game's first post-launch specialist who is appropriately named Zero.

Black Ops 4 has been out for a little while now and it's been doing pretty well. While the game ditches the traditional single-player aspects of past titles in the franchise, the addition of the new Blackout battle royale mode has more than made up for it. The wealth of multiplayer content is about to be expanded in the Black Ops 4 Absolute Zero update coming next week.

The highlight of the Black Ops 4 Absolute Zero update is the new specialist. Zero specializes in hacking and can use her tools to counteract the other players on the proverbial board. She can be unlocked by completing Tier 1 in the newly-revamped Black Market.

Three new weapons for multiplayer are being added to the game. The Daemon 3XB SMG, SWAT RFT assault rifle, and Secret Santa melee weapon will be available for players to add to their arsenal. You can try them out immediately in Blackjack's Gun Game starting next week or get them normally through Blackout weapon drops.

Blackout - the game's battle royale mode - will be getting some updates to the core experience. New visual improvements and audio updates to maps are on the way. Aside from the aesthetic features, players can hop into the new ARAV armored vehicle and run down their opponents in style. The game mode will also be seeing an expansion to its feature set with custom games, weapon camos, and more coming in the near future.

Of course, we can't forget about Zombies. The Black Ops 4 Absolute Zero update will be bringing in three new features. Daily Callings are essentially daily quests that give you bonus XP and Nebulium Plasma once you beat them. The Black Ops Authenticity Stamp system will generate a personal code at the end of every match that lets you share your stats for that round. Finally, a Daily Tier Skip will allow you to get a bonus Black Market Tier by beating 15 rounds of Classic Zombies.

The final big-ticket item in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Absolute Zero update is a revamp of the Black Market. A number of streamlining measures have been taken including reducing the initial Tier showcase from 200 to 100. A boatload of new content is on the way and players will be able to customize their equipment like never before.

This is just the broad strokes of what you can expect in the Absolute Zero update; be sure to read through the full blog post on Treyarch's website for all the fine details. The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Absolute Zero update should be arriving sometime next week. If you don't yet own Black Ops 4, you can get it on Blizzard Battle.net for the PC, at the Microsoft Store for the Xbox One, and at the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 4 - and you can save a few bucks by picking up the much cheaper Battle Edition.
