Brigette, the newest support hero in Overwatch will be available to play on March 20, 2018, according to a tweet from the game's official account.
Brigitte is the latest addition to the Overwatch roster. She was originally introduced to the game's universe as one of Torbjörn's daughters in a background panel within one of the comics. Her role in the narrative expanded to that of Reinhardt's squire in his own comic, helping maintain his armor and trying to keep him from pushing himself too far. Finally, she had her first appearance in 3D in Reinhardt's Honor and Glory animated short.

As a hero, Brigitte falls under the Support category as a sort of tank/healer hybrid. Her primary weapon is a Rocket Flail that allows her to passively heal allies within range as she does damage to enemies. She's able to protect herself (and perhaps her allies) with a smaller version of Reinhardt's barrier. While she lacks the mobility of charging, she's able to quickly Shield Bash enemies (or simply use it as a movement ability). Rounding out her abilities are the Whip Shot attack (which knocks back enemies at medium range), Repair Pack (which heals and potentially grants temporary armor overheal), and Rally (which grants a hefty amount of permanent armor to allies within range). Brigitte was originally revealed at the end of February 2018 and spent a couple of weeks in testing on the Public Test Realm. The PTR closed down a couple of days ago, usually signaling that the hero being tested was almost finished. Check out our own Anson Chan's thoughts on how she'll fit into the game's meta. Update: Brigitte will become available in Competitive Play at the beginning of Season 10 according to a post on the game's official forums by Overwatch developer Scott Mercer. Season 9 recently kicked off at the beginning of this month.
