Studio Bluepoint Games is reportedly working on another remake as its next game. The developer revealed the news in an interview with Digital Foundry, as part of a video spotlight on Shadow of the Colossus, which you can view below. The team recently released Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 4, a remake of the 2005 original, to critical acclaim.

Bluepoint Games has a history of remaking and porting games, having previously worked on Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, and Gravity Rush Remastered. After the success of the recent Shadow of the Colossus port, many had begun to speculate on the studio’s next move. It seems that it will be continuing with what it’s great at, rather than making a new game as many had speculated.

The PlayStation 4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus uses ultra HD assets remade from the ground up. There’s also an updated control scheme, something that will give many gamers a relief considering the ire often directed at the original ones. It features almost the exact same gameplay as the original, aside from the reworked controls, and tells the same tragic story of a young boy named Wander slaying a collection of Colossi in the hope of saving a girl called Mono. The remake features updated graphics and resolution for PS4 Pro, either offering 4K visuals or running at 60 FPS.

Shadow of the Colossus was originally released in 2005 and has seen a remaster and a remake since, both developed by Bluepoint Games. It tasks the player with taking down 16 beasts called Colossi, armed with a sword and a bow. The game has since been praised for its morally ambiguous plot and massive, well designed enemies.

What do you want to see Bluepoint Games remake next? Do you think they are the best studio at remakes? Let us know in the comments.
