Fans of handheld horror and Internet bogeymen, rejoice. Slender: The Arrival is coming to Nintendo Switch via the eShop tomorrow.

Slender: The Arrival sees players take control of Lauren as she searches for her childhood friend Kate. The game, created by Canadian studio Blue Isle, is intended as a commercial sequel to Slender: The Eight Pages and was co-created with that game's developer. Unlike The Eight PagesSlender: The Arrival takes players through a linear narrative and features several different locations including a house, an abandoned mine, and a park. Check out the Switch announcement trailer for Slender: The Arrival below:

Naturally, Slender: The Arrival revolves around the titular Slender Man. You'll encounter the creepy besuited one throughout your ordeal and will need to avoid him every step of the way. Just like in Slender: The Eight Pages, you won't have any tools at your disposal to aid in your defense. As such, you'll simply need to run (probably screaming) from the Slender Man every time he appears.

There are a few new mechanics in Slender: The Arrival compared with its predecessor. Your flashlight is for more than just navigation; there's a secondary antagonist who you'll need to scare off by focusing the torch beam. Three new difficulty settings adjust gameplay accordingly: Easy gives you an infinite flashlight, while Hardcore allows the flashlight to run out and increases enemy aggression levels. You'll need to complete the game once in order to unlock the extra difficulty settings though. Kudos to you if you manage to make it through this game more than once.

You can grab Slender: The Arrival on Nintendo Switch when it launches tomorrow. It's only $9.99, which is a pretty decent price. You can also get it on PS4 and Xbox One. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to play Yoshi's Crafted World and cry.
