For a long while, it looked as though Platinum Games would never be able to make a follow-up to the universally acclaimed Bayonetta. However with the help of Nintendo, a sequel was made in the form of Bayonetta 2 (which was arguably even better than the first) and now another Bayonetta sequel is being teased.gMN1mhD - More Bayonetta Incoming?

The Bayonetta series has definitely had a difficult road so far. Universally acclaimed by both critics and gamers, the first Bayonetta was a hit in everything but what really counted for the people who funded the title: sales. For many, the five-year wait for a sequel was an excruciating and sometimes hopeless endeavor, but last year fans were rewarded with a game that has since topped many lists as one of the best games of 2014.

In terms of a sequel, an interview from 4Gamer has unveiled an interesting quote from Bayonetta 2 producer Akiko Kuroda , which looks promising to say the least:

“I have started working on the next project, but it looks like the announcement will come later. In any case, I think that it would be nice if something Bayonetta-related was also developed in 2015, so please pay attention to the continuation of Bayonetta!”

It seems as though that becoming an exclusive title for the Wii U was a good move for both Platinum Games and for the Bayonetta series in general, and that there may indeed be another Bayonetta sequel in the cards.

I think it sounds awesome that we are gonna see more Bayonetta. Platinum Games makes great action games and it was good that Nintendo helped them with Bayonetta 2. It’s also refreshing to see that Nintendo can offer more than just Mario and Zelda games.

The way that was phrased “something Bayonetta-related” makes me think it may be a spinoff more than a sequel. Point & click adventure starring Luka, charming journalist, please! In any case, I’m down for more Bayonetta in any form.

Will it be the 3DS Jeanne spin off game where we see her as a school teacher?

  • Virtual Boy

I really need to pick up Bayonetta 2.

  • Sebastian Mikulec

    Yes, you do.

  • Would be nice if the games could somehow find their way to pc. I know its Nintendo but I can still dream can’t I?

More Bayonetta is always good news, as long as its as good and fun as its predecessors

Bayonetta doesn’t have the deepest story but since the narrative isn’t really the focus of the game I could definitely welcome more action nirvana.

They’ve been offering more than just Mario and Zelda games for decades. You should look up their library; they’ve made so many great games. 😀

That little comment made my year. Now, if only it’s an actual game and not just some merchandise! I love these games~~
