Battlefield V, the latest iteration of DICE's war-themed first-person shooter, will have a bit of a delay - its release date has been pushed back from October 19, 2018, to November 20, 2018, according to a post on the game's official website.

DICE have been hard at work taking Battlefield V around to trade shows and continuing with their development along the way. While the game's first trailer had a somewhat mixed reception, they state that they've nonetheless received tons of positive feedback from people who have actually got their hands on the game. In particular, players highlighted the increased focus on squad play, revamped player movement, and changes to weapon handling as overall improvements.

"We believe we have one of the best Battlefield games ever on our hands. A game that will deliver on an emotional journey through the return of unseen single player War Stories, a deep multiplayer experience, Battle Royale, along with our new live service, Tides of War - a journey across multiple theaters of WW2 and designed to keep our community together." -Oskar Gabrielson, General Manager of DICE
Although there has been a degree of positive reception, Battlefield V players have also given some feedback that is going to require a little more development time to adequately address. In particular, DICE mentioned that they will be adjusting the gameplay tempo, improving soldier visibility, and reducing player friction.

These (and likely other) adjustments to the core gameplay of Battlefield V will result in the release date being moved back a little over a month. While DICE concedes that some players may be disappointed with the wait, they feel that it's important to have the game ready for primetime. You'll be able to get your hands on Battlefield V on November 20, 2018, and the open beta will maintain its original starting date of September 6, 2018.
