Over on their blog, 2K have revealed a ton of new information for their upcoming shooter Battleborn.

PC Controller support was mentioned and 2K has confirmed that Battleborn will be compatible with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Controllers at launch with support for the Steam Controller coming shortly there after. New details for the game’s story mode, competitive multiplayer, and character roster were also detailed.

The Story Mode will offer players a variety of ways to play. The game is, of course, playable solo with the player unlocking the next mission after completing the previous one. Cooperative play works a little differently than standard solo play. Three stages are presented for a player’s team to vote on and all players a able to play the chosen mission regardless of whether or not every player has unlocked that mission in solo play. Hardcore mode will be available to players that want an extra challenge and those willing to rise to the occasion will find themselves being rewarded with new extra loot and new unlockable content.

2K also detailed Battleborn‘s Competitive Multiplayer modes. Incursion sees teams take out each others Spider Sentry Drones, Capture is variation on classic base capture, and Meltdown is a points game that sees teams trying to throw the most minions into an incinerator. Each mode has two maps and more will be added after launch in the form of free DLC. Keep in mind that the game is always online and any unlocks that all of the player’s unlocks in Story Mode will be usable in Multiplayer.
