Slitherine, famous developers of over 200 strategy and war titles, have announced that they will be publishing a new dystopian RTS game from Polish newcomers SimteractNeverdark is an RTS game set on the streets of the cities which we know from our own world but in a future devoid of technology and electricity, with glowing bright lights and prosperity replaced with darkness, war, and open hostility. 10 years into our future the world has lost all technology from WiFi to telephones and this is the world in which Neverdark takes place.

Simteract are Polish developers with most of their background in simulation and augmented/virtual reality technologies, making Neverdark their first video game project. The game will apparently take a more novel approach to classic strategy gameplay while still staying true to what makes the genre enjoyable.

Ian McNeil, Development Director for Slitherine Said:

“We fell in love with Neverdark from Day One. It’s a fresh approach to strategy gaming and it has so many departures from the classic tropes, whilst still being true to the genre. It has all the elements to become a long-lasting franchise, which we will be investing in for a long time to come”.
There is no information on a release date yet for Neverdark but the game will be demoed at PAX East and GDC, and with the developer's history with simulation software it is probably that the games will feature hyper-realistic simulations of city warfare. There will also be segments of the game based around political and diplomatic decisions as well as ways of dealing with obstacles via combat. Neverdark will be available on PC via its Steam page where you can also find more information about the game.
