Batman is the next major IP getting the Telltale treatment, following up recent episodic titles from the developer like Tales from the Borderlands and Game of ThronesBatman: The Telltale Series was first announced at the 2015 Game Awards, and we learned a lot more about the game at this year’s E3. Now, in a recent blog post on the Telltale website, we finally have a more precise release window for the first episode of this adventure game, as well as a precise release date for the retail version of the game.

The first episode of Batman: The Telltale Series will debut sometime during August of this year. Telltale noted in the blog post that a more precise date would be revealed in about a week along with a new trailer for the game. A retail version of the game will be available on September 13th in North America and September 16th in Europe. The retail copy of the game will not include all five episodes of the game, however. Instead, it will include the first episode, and the disk will then act as a sort of season pass, allowing you to download the rest of the episodes when they come out at no extra cost to you. Telltale is aiming to release all five episodes by the end of 2016.

Just because I write about video games doesn't mean I'm very good at them. Unless it's Smash Bros. I'll wreck you in Smash Bros. I am also currently obsessed with Overwatch, so I'll wreck you in that too with Mercy.
