Batman: Return to Arkham will not include Batman: Arkham Origins – it only covers the first two games created by RockSteady for the Arkham series as well as all the DLC released for them. Development on Batman: Return to Arkham is being handled by Virtuos, who have previously handled the HD remakes of Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, and Heavy Rain for the PlayStation 4. They have also created ports and companion apps such as the Injustice: Gods Among US Android version.
Batman: Return to Arkham was originally slated to launch on July 26th, 2016. The delay comes after the team at WB games reviewed the progress of the game’s development by Virtuos and came to the conclusion that they needed more time to “deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience”. WB Games has not set a new release date and stated that they will make an announcement when they have one. They’ve also asked their forum users to keep discussion of the topic to that one particular thread.
The original two Batman games by Rocksteady were available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. It’s notable that this HD collection will not be available on PC like the previous titles it’s based on. Batman: Return to Arkham will be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for $50 or your regional equivalent.
