Another day, another game is having its online service shut down. While it may not have been the focus of the game, Batman: Arkham Origins featured an online mode that pit three teams in a battle against each other. If you were interested in trying it then you better get it out of the way now as Warner Brothers will be shutting down the service next month.

In a post on the Warner Brothers forums, community manager WBMike announced that the online service for Batman: Arkham Origins will be shutting down on December 4th, 2016. While the online portion of the game will shut down, you will be able to play the single player campaign without any problems. No further information was provided about the shutdown, though Arkham Origins launched October 25th, 2013 which means the game got a little over three years of online service. If you want to read our review of the game you can do so here.

If you missed it, Batman: Arkham Origins' multiplayer mode pit two teams of three and a team of two against each other. The two teams of three play as henchmen of either Joker or Bane and play like a typical third person shooter. They had objectives or kill limits to reach and the first team to reach it would win. Sometimes Joker or Bane themselves would join the battle as well, allowing one player to play as a hero character for a while. The team of two, on the other hand, consisted of Batman and Robin. Their goal was to sneak around the area and stealthy incapacitate members of the other teams. Every time they did they'd raise the fear meter and every time they died the fear meter would go down. Fill the fear meter and they would be the winning team.

If you're still interested in the single-player game, or if you want to jump into the multiplayer in its final weeks, Batman: Arkham Origins is still available to purchase on Steam, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
