Fans of Batman's Arkham series can rejoice! Rocksteady is back with a new game, set to be the finale of the franchise. The news broke from major UK retailer GAME late last night and a screenshot, featuring details and the game's box art can be seen below:

A few key points from what Game has announced are that this is set to be the finale in the Batman Arkham Series and that the series is not likely to continue. Whether spin offs will be developed by other studios in a similar vein to Batman Arkham Origins remains to be seen, but it's safe to say this will be the final Rocksteady Batman Game.

Furthermore, as noted, this is the first time the Batmobile has become available to use in gameplay, signifying a much larger area of Gotham to explore in comparison to predecessors, so don't expect the confined spaces which Arkham Asylum offered up. Rocksteady has since elaborated that the Batmobile will be a "core element" of gameplay which is good news for fans who have been clamouring for the vehicle since Arkham City's reveal.

The Arkam Series has always been known for its large cast of villains in its games and this time round is no exception. Scarecrow is the big bad this time striking fear into the hearts of Gotham citizens everywhere, but joining him are Two-Face, Harley Quinn and Penguin who have been confirmed so far. However, furtther villains are likely to be announced soon; for instance the official Batman: Hush Facebook page uploaded a status earlier this month stating: "Remember a little appearance by somebody in Arkham City? Well things may be abut to get more interesting next month...". This would make sense given how that particular character's arc ended on a cliffhanger in Arkham City, however, we won't know for certain until a later date.

Finally, following on from the leak over at GAME, Rocksteady released the announcement trailer for Batman Arkham Knight which you can check out below:
