Bastion originally launched one the Xbox 360, and now, over five years later, the game is making its return to Xbox on December 12th.

Supergiant Games, the development team behind Bastion, announced today in a blog post that Bastion would be coming to the Xbox One next month. They also announced that if you already own Bastion on the Xbox 360, you will be able to download the Xbox One port of the game for free up until January 1st, 2017. If you don't claim your free version by then or you don't already own the game on the 360, Bastion on the Xbox One retails for $14.99.

There are some changes coming to the port. First, the game now runs in 1080p, while the 360 version of the game ran at 720p. Next, the port will include more unlockable achievements than the 360 version of the game, although the developers have not yet mentioned what those new achievements will be. Lastly, the Xbox One version of the game will include the Stranger's Dream DLC, something that didn't come with the base version of the game on the Xbox 360.

It's also worth noting that Supergiant Games also announced in the same blog post that a new Bastion T-shirt will be coming to the studio's online store to commemorate the game's anniversary. The shirt is available for pre-order for $19.99 here.

The Xbox One port of Bastion is being published by Warner Bros., while the actual port itself was made by BlitWorks, a Barcelona-based team that specializes in porting games.

The Xbox 360 and (soon) the Xbox One aren't the only platforms that you are going to be able to play Bastion on. The game is also currently available for the PlayStation 4, the PlayStation Vita, PC, and iOS.

Besides Bastion, Supergiant Games is also known for making Transistor, which came out in 2014. The studio also announced their newest project earlier this year, Pyre, which is expected to come out sometime in 2017.

What do you think of this port and their decision to provide it for free to owners of the Xbox 360 version? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
