Ubisoft has been more than happy to keep Assassin's Creed Origins in the spotlight, especially after it impressed many people by revitalizing the Assassin's Creed series. It seems they have more to give, as the plans for January's additions to the game have been revealed.

The biggest part of the announcement involves the game's first major expansion. Assassin's Creed Origins: The Hidden Ones takes place after the events of the main game. It sees Bayek leading his group of Assassins into battle against Romans who are occupying a region in Egypt. The big draw is that The Hidden Ones will take place in an all-new region of Egypt, giving the player more to explore. In addition, it will bump the game's level cap from 40 to 45, letting Bayek become even more powerful. Not sold yet? In addition to this, a new quest will be added to the game. This quest will be free to all owners and will "celebrate the arrival of the first expansion". While there's no exact date on when The Hidden Ones will be launching, it will be some time in January.

In addition to this, the Heka chest is having more of the DLC items added to it. You'll now have a chance to earn pieces from the Nightmare, First Civilization, Gladiator, and Wacky packs in-game. Two more item packs are also being added. The Almighty Pack comes on January 16th and includes four weapons and a shield, while the For Honor pack, based on Ubisoft's multiplayer title of the same name, will launch on January 30th and include three weapons and a shield. In addition, the Warden's Oath Outfit, based on one of the knights from For Honor, will launch the same day. Players can also grab a pair of swords for free, one named Harlequin and the other named Chop Chop, these being the two weapons that won the Community Creation Contest.

Finally, if you're interested in hunting Egyptian Gods, you'll get another chance to go after a pair of them. From January 9th to the 16th Anubis will once again be around to be fought, and from the 23rd to the 30th you have another chance to go after Sobek.

Assassin's Creed Origins is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
