Michael Fassbender as Aguilar de Nerha in Assassin's Creed

The upcoming Assassin's Creed movie is set to start filming this August, according to the LinkedIn profile of Ubisoft executive producer Fannie Pailloux. It seems as though the motion picture will have a release date sometime in the summer of 2015.

Although the full cast and crew has not yet been disclosed, we do know that actor Michael Fassbender will play the lead role in the movie and will also serve as a producer. Fassbender has stated in an interview with The Daily Beast that he has not played Assassin's Creed.

I’d heard of it but had never played the game. I don’t have a video game player … that’s not what they’re called. [Laughs] I met up with the guys from Ubisoft and they told me the story behind it, and I thought it was very interesting—the idea of reliving memories.

Gamers everywhere are wondering if Fassbender will be able to pull off the role and make their beloved Assassin's Creed into an epic film on the big screen. However, hearing that the lead actor doesn’t even own a console, never mind knowing what they’re called, makes many players doubt whether the movie will be a hit.

What do you think about the lead character not even owning a console? Does it matter? Let me know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
