The first Friday of every month sees the release of the Humble Monthly Bundle, a subscription service by Humble Bundle which sees users subscribe for $12 a month for between 7 to 9 games every month, the majority of which are unknown.

While most the games are unknown, April had two games handed out ahead of time as the sneak peak. Both South Park: The Stick of Truth and This War of Mine were confirmed to be in the bundle when the March bundle came out. South Park: The Stick of Truth is a comedic turn based RPG based on the famous show. You can read our positive review of it here. On the complete and total opposite end of the seriousness spectrum, This War of Mine sees you managing a group of civilians trying to survive after a war has destroyed their city. You can read our review of it as well.

There's then a batch of five independent games included in this bundle. The first is Nuclear Throne, a twin stick shooter rogue-lite where you play as various monsters trying to ascend to the throne. Next up is Renowned Explorers: International Society, an adventure game where you assemble a crew of explorers and check out various locations, finding treasures and meeting (and fighting sometimes) locals. While we didn't review it, we did consider it one of the most overlooked games of 2015. Following that is Nova-111, a turn based/real time hybrid adventure game where you must solve puzzles and save scientists after a science experience gone wrong. The fourth game is The Magic Circle, a first person puzzle game where you try to fix up a game that has been stuck in development hell by messing with its code. You can read our review of The Magic Circle here. Last but not least is Avalanche 2: Super Avalanche. This game is a fast-paced platformer where you have to quickly climb a set of randomized falling blocks before the lava catches up with you.

The last two games offered in the bundle are a little more unique. One is the Humble Debut game, a game that comes out at the same time it launches in the bundle. This month that game is Stikbold! A Dodgeball Adventure, a dodgeball game made to be played locally either co-op or competitive. We'll have a review of that game going up in the next few days. The other game is the Humble Original, a completely new and unheard of game exclusive to people who got the bundle. This time it's Tailwind: Prologue, a SHMUP where your planet is destroyed and your goal is to take out as many of the invaders as possible before you die.

As with other monthly bundles, 5% of the total is donated to a charity. This time it's the World Land Trust charity who works to conserve threaten habitats. You also will get 10% off of any purchases from the Humble Store for buying the monthly bundle.

Excited for next month's bundle? Buy in now and you can get its sneak peak game, Mad Max, which you can read our review of. This is notably the lowest price it has ever been, plus you'll get a whole set of other games. The Humble Monthly Bundle costs $12 and is given on the first Friday of every month. So expect this one on May 6th.
