Those of you hoping for some Anthem new game content will likely be simultaneously disappointed and happy at hearing this news: BioWare is going to be changing up the way they are releasing new stuff to do in Anthem.

Anthem has had a troubled production history in the leadup to its launch and some rather unusual behavior in how it's been handling content releases. As an example, the recent Cataclysm update launched with basically no warning whatsoever, dropping out of the sky without any advance announcements or hype. Now, things will be changing up yet again as Bioware has announced that they will be altering the way they put out new content for the game.

How the Anthem New Game Content Will Be Released

BioWare has stated in a blog post that they've "[heard] player concerns" regarding a variety of core issues with the game. They've allocated resources to work on these underlying problems, but that means that they're going to have to change up the pace at which they release content. Here's what they had to say about it:

In order to address these long-range plans, we are moving away from the Acts structure for updates. Instead, we have additional seasonal updates planned for this year that we think players will enjoy. These events will deliver challenges and chases similar to what you’ve seen, and are built around some fun themes we’re bringing to the game.

One of the core reasons noted for this shift is that these core gameplay changes are going to require "a more thorough review and re-working"; there won't be any easy fixes here for the problems players have been dealing with.

Hopefully, the changes they make will pull this game out of the fire and give it a chance to shine. In the meantime, current players can look forward to more content including challenges and chases that should debut before the end of the year.

What do you think of the changes to how Anthem new game content will be delivered? Do you think that BioWare is making the right move in diverting resources? Let us know in the comments below!
